Wearing red lipstick is a statement. Whether you’re full of confidence or “preserving your sexy,” red is the color of choice. Whilst wearing red lips can seem intimidating at first, the key is to pick the right color for your skin complexion. Those with red/pink undertones will look better in plum shades, while those with yellow undertones should try warmer and bronzer reds. Now if you already possess a red lip color that you don’t like, mix it with other shades until you find a color that suits you. Use the back of your hand as a palette. Novices should start with gloss then work their way up to lipstick. When all else fails, try Benefit’s Benetint Lip Balm (pictured, No. 6) or a lip stain for “just bitten lips” (See No. 5 above) for softer red lips.
